i am not one to watch awards shows, especially when i do not know what the fuck is going on, but this year was an exception at the house. grumpy worked on the set all last week and there was nothing else interesting on.

i thought that i would be completely out of the music loop- not listening to current radio for quite  while, but i surprised myself and some acts surprised me.

i have a secret love for kanye and thought that with his mullet and all, while whispering into estelle's ear, was pretty stunning.

radiohead blew me away when they played with the marching band (another secret love), its good to see thom york in daylight, or better yet stagelight.

my girl crush goes to adele. not only am i transfixed by her songs, i loved the hair and the way that she looked like she drank cherry soda all afternoon with her pink stained lips and pale skin.

ok- i am officially a dork and have to return to my purple rain soundtrack.

pure genius

there are a few deliberate rituals that i create for my niece.

1. to teach her how to cook. i never had anyone teach me and i survived, but i want to also expose her to a range of different things.

2. movie night. with a nice dinner and popcorn in the temporary rearranged living room.

last night we had fondues, chocolate and cheese, because i thought it would be great to see her in glee as her ate her 2 favorite foods. and we watched "chitty chitty bang bang"- a little forgotten fact is the perv benny hill is featured in this movie- i had forgotten how much i love these movies and all the theatrics and colors and how much of a genius dick van dyke was.

someone really needs to use this song in their wedding.

somedays, i feel completely unoriginal and right there is the reason that these posts are so sporadic.

i luckily met nadya ginsburg through bifocaled friend a few years back and who would have thought that under the super sweet feminine exterior was a raging hilarious diva.
